The Senior IT Auditor is responsible for performing audits as well as directing and supervising audit projects to identify IT and business risks, assess the adequacy of control procedures and processes and make recommendations for improvement.
KEY RESULT AREAS:
Evaluate IT plans, strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure adequate due-diligence.
Evaluate and assess the day-to-day IT controls to ensure that transactions are recorded and processed in compliance with acceptable accounting methods and standards in line with established policies.
Lead execution of operational audits, including system development audits to ensure that internal controls are in place, policies and procedures are effective, and that employees operate in compliance with approved policies.
Participate in the development process for major new IT applications to ensure that all risks are identified and properly mitigated prior to the development or implementation.
Provide assistance on IT related matters to the financial and operational auditors in the internal audit group to provide an integrated audit approach.
Perform risk analysis for the assigned audit areas and identify appropriate control procedures to address the identified risks.
Assess IT control procedures to mitigate IT risks including process integrity, data availability and security access.
Evaluate overall hardware and software platforms including network and telecommunications infrastructure.
Review draft audit reports and prepare the final audit report for presentation to management ultimately responsible for the area under review and develop recommendations for improving risk management processes, procedures, and controls.
Keep abreast with IT auditing and the QF information processing environment to be able to effectively and efficiently complete assigned audits and support audit teams.
