The Role of Refinery Strategic Consultant sit’s in KBC’s Energy Economics Group and is part of the companies Consulting Business which represents approximately 60% of the organizations total revenue.



The Energy Economics Group provides fundamental research into the Oil, Gas & Petrochemical markets on a global basis, with teams in the UK, Singapore and USA ensuring specific regional coverage. The group has a global client base and executes bespoke client studies on all aspects of the energy market in addition to providing publications on a weekly, monthly and annual basis. Bespoke client studies can be on a stand-alone basis or integrated into a larger strategic KBC project.



The Refinery Consultant’s role based in Walton on Thames is a key element of the group’s activities, providing market leadership on all aspects of the global refining industry culminating in the publication of the group’s Annual World Refining Outlook.



Responsibilities



• Track developments in global refining utilization and progress on construction projects

• Tabulate construction data & prepare outlooks for crude distillation and upgrading capacity

• Maintain global, country-level, refined products balances incorporating annual data for demand, refinery output and non-refinery supply

• Research and comment upon global longer term trends in products markets and their impact on refining operation and investment

• Prepare refining industry analysis, including the annual Outlook for the World Refining Industry

• Monitor developments in global renewable and alternative fuels supplies

• Participate in strategic project work &the publication of KBC’s reports for retainer clients

• Source regular numerical and statistical data from public/company sources, and journals
