ABOUT THIS JOB
Baker Hughes has an opportunity for a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager to support the Enterprise HSE Function in Iraq. The role provides the leadership to ensure the HSE program meets Enterprise and key stakeholder governance requirements, while promoting best practices to affirm our commitment to HSE.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Partners with management to define strategies, create HSE plans, and champions/assures implementation to drive an HSE culture and ensure injury free operations
Supervises, mentors and coordinates the work of HSE Professionals, Specialist and Technicians to ensure compliance with government laws, regulations and Corporate policies
Partners with Management to execute the HSE Management System and Operational Controls and leverage use of the HSE management system tools (Odyssey, SOS, etc…)
Set and manages progress against annual HSE culture and performance goals
Coaches Regional/Geomarket line management in cultural aspects of HSE ownership
Sits on relevant Management Team as an active member, or as lead, to ensure consistent application of Enterprise minimum HSE standards, processes and procedures across the Region/Geomarket
Fosters communication and sharing of best practices and solutions to specific HSE issues
Ensure effectiveness and efficiency by identifying opportunities to leverage HSE improvement efforts and opportunities to share resources
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Proven written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management and/or field location personnel where required
Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, multi-tasking, consensus building and decision-making skills
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, team building and influencing skills
Willingness to work with people of different cultures and countries
Thorough understanding of safety regulations and regulatory process; the ability to research, analyze, interpret and implement HSE regulations, standards, and best practices
Experience in HSE Management Systems and Auditing
Experience in Root Cause investigation techniques
Position relevant technical skills
Position relevant behavioural skills
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required
Minimum 7-8 years’ experience as an HSE professional
Minimum 3-5+ years management experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Master’s degree preferred
3-5+ years of oilfield operational experience preferred
Professional designations recognized by HSE certifying bodies (CIH, CSP, CRSP, ASP, etc…) preferred
