Middle East Jobs: OFFSHORE SENIOR MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

DESCRIPTION

Primary Responsibility:

Supervise general maintenance and repair activities of the Mechanical, Electrical and instrumentation disciplines in the offshore installation, in a safe and efficient manner, to maximize productivity throughout the effective use of all available resources. Closely work with other fellow workers from his own and other departments to foster effective cross training.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Control and schedule all day to day maintenance activities on offshore locations, routine and non-routine, breakdown and shutdown; also coordinate the necessary works for planned shutdowns.

2. Comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental standards set by the company, and contribute to this effort by ensuring that his subordinates and others have the same approach. Provide safety guidelines to his subordinates and other fellow workers.

3. Has to approach all works under the team work concept, effectively working with personnel of other departments, and has to foster this attitude in his subordinates. Likewise, will do the same between the various disciplines that he supervises in order to achieve cross training within the maintenance group personnel with the purpose of obtaining a multidisciplinary workforce.

Preferred Experience:

The following describes the preferred experience required for this position to better suit its needs:

1. Management of a crew of at least five technicians during the last three years, involved in maintenance routines and activities comprising not only his field of expertise but involved actively with other disciplines thus becoming capable to effectively supervise a multi disciplinary workforce.

2. Hands on and administrative experience in maintenance activities related to the petrochemical industry mainly to his field of expertise.

3. Utilization of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems to support the Preventive Maintenance Programs, as well as work scheduling experience to properly handle the available manpower and resources.

4. Well experienced in interpretation of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's) related to Offshore Petroleum Installations, also interpretation of electrical single line diagrams and schematic diagrams, equipment mechanical drawings.

5. Experience in interfacing with Production and Engineering department's personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

This position requires a minimum educational background of two years of studies on mechanical, electrical or instrumentation disciplines for industrial applications, Certificates and or diploma granted by an officially recognized educational institution in the relevant country.

Job Position Requirements:

1. Minimum of eight years relevant hands on experience in the Petrochemical Industry in his field of expertise Experienced in installation works pertaining mainly to his field of expertise but also knowledgeable of works related to other disciplines.

2. Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance procedures for equipment used in petroleum production facilities.

3. Utilization of work procedures, including all necessary safety precautions such as lockouts and tag out procedures.

4. Direct supervision and management of technical personnel in maintenance, repair and / or construction activities preferably related to the petrochemical industry.

5. Knowledgeable in the utilization of online warehouse stock inventories and in preparation of materials requisitions providing all necessary information for the timely procurement of the required equipment and materials.

6. Team player.

7. Self-starter with a strong desire to deliver superior results.

8. Capable of maintaining good interpersonal relations with the ability to work with a multi-national workforce.
