Surface Treatment Manager - TAWEELAH ALUMINIUM EXTRUSION CO LLC - TALEX

I. Duties and Responsibilities:



 Manage daily operations in the Surface Treatment (anodizing, painting, fabricating) and Packing function.

 Manage the waste water treatment area in compliance with authority demands.

 Train and develop teams of surface treatment and packing operators, transferring knowledge throughout.

 Work with chemical/consumable suppliers and the upstream production teams to maximize throughput of the surface treatment and packing areas (throughput per hour/man-hour, maximize current density, uptime, waste management, material/consumable costs).

 Work with all staff and management to drive business performance (lower cost, higher quality and productivity).

 Report Surface treatment and Packing key performance indicator (KPIs) on a daily, monthly, annual basis using ERP/Office Tools available.

 Develop an environment of continuous improvement striving towards world class manufacturing goals.

 Report and document any relevant activities as required by the Company.

 Support developing and maintaining of quality, environmental and safety procedures and certification (ISO 9001, 14001, TS16949, OHSAS 18001)

 Working in synergy with the planning department to guarantee schedules and plans are met and deliver the appropriate service levels to all customers.

 Work with the business development and sales department at inquiry and contract review stages in order to better meet the needs of TALEX’s customers and in order to better understand the associated cost of production.

 Organization of labor and machines to optimize productivity and quality at the lowest cost and waste/scrap.

 Reporting to the General Manager and keeping him informed on all developments in the Surface Treatment and Packing Area.

 Ensure all HSE rules and regulations are complied with for employees, visitors and contractors.

 Participate and report on any auditing as required by TALEX (financial, quality, safety etc.). Develop and realize any audit action plan as required.

 Maintain cost budget for the areas including materials, chemicals and consumables, labor and utility costs, developing strategies for cost reduction.

 Propose and develop cost saving solutions to the management.

 Support the start-up of the plant, by setting-up the Surface Treatment and Packing operations, including recruitment and equipment installation and commissioning.

 Responsible for appraisals and personal development planning according to HR policy.

 Responsible for administration of discipline according to HR policy.

 Any other appropriate task/activity assigned by the General Manager.



II. Supervisory and Management Responsibilities:



 Planning and full management of the Surface Treatment and Packing functions.

 Periodic reporting to the top management of all aspects of the operations.

 Identify and evaluate all risk factors as well as develop appropriate risk management plans.



III. Main Relations:



Internal Relations



 Work with production personnel throughout to improve quality and productivity and reduce waste.

 Work with the Maintenance Manager to develop and maintain critical manufacturing processes and documentation.

 Work with the Procurement Department in preparing orders, specifications and contracts for packing materials, chemicals and consumables.

 Work with the Extrusion Manager to ensure the smooth and timely passage of mill-finish material orders from the extrusion process through to the finished goods warehouse.

 Work with Business Development and Sales Department for customer inquiries and advice.



External Relations



 Interface with suppliers focusing on achieving business objectives of on-time delivery, quality and cost.

 Interface with customers in order to develop new solutions for product finishes, packing types, fabricating solutions etc. always respecting the business objective of profitability and cost performance.
