The Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) Officer, under the close supervision of the Education Project Coordinator, will be part of the working group/unit comprised of MOE/UNICEF/NRC, which will be working towards developing an accredited ALP to be implemented in Jordan. The programme will enable school age children, who have been displaced as a result of conflict, to complete the required learning in an accelerated timespan; allowing them to integrate to formal at the appropriate level/age. The Officer will be involved in the follow up on curricula, pedagogical, administrative, training and material support.
- Key Responsibilities:
•Carry out visits to the field to gain a sound understanding of the ongoing education programs.
•Desk review of project documentation (including multi-agency assessments carried out).
•Arrange together with the Project Coordinator an opening meeting with UNICEF and MOE to revise, develop, endorse the existing TOR and agree on a detailed work plan.
•Based on the agreed work plan, organize regular meetings with the working unit to discuss curricula adaptation, legislation, timeline for cohorts, materials needed, testing mechanism etc.
•Develop the proposed agenda of ALP working unit meetings and draft minutes to be shared timely with relevant partners
•Ensure optimal working collaboration between MOE officials, donors, and colleagues
•Consolidate education materials into a curriculum, testing and teacher training package for ALP and develop means of assessing the success of the ALP and the performance of students once it is ready for the pilot phase
•Coordinate with logistics and finance to ensure that any materials needed for the working group meetings are procured in a timely manner.
•Represent NRC in a professional manner while adhering to the Code of Conduct
•Carry out activities conforming to the existing working structure and in line with the NRC Code of Conduct
•Elaborate weekly reports on the progress of the working group unit and submit to PC and PM
•Utilize all tools provided by NRC in a respectful and correct way
•Inform the PC about all kinds of problems, complaints or information useful for carrying out the project
•Coordinate with other stakeholders operating in the area of intervention and ensure mutual respect for the local customs/cultures
