Epidemiologist - Qatar Foundation

Job Purpose:

• Monitor the quality of self-reported and measured data from the QBB

• Provide monitoring and Quality Control of Clinical Measurements

• Liaise with clinic director to evaluate participant feedback and potential system refinements

• Maintain a record of proposed changes to the questionnaires and study procedures for approval by the Scientific Directors and the QBB Principal Investigator

• Liaise with IT to optimize data formatting

• Conduct analyses of pilot data

• Contribute to Biobank reports and scientific publications

• Working with the PR & Communication Specialist and external scientific and communications advisors as appropriate, devise the strategies by which members of the Qatari population are identified and invited to become participants in the Biobank

• Oversee the implementation of methods by which members of the Qatari population are identified and invited to become participants in the biobank, including the use of multiple channels and technologies as necessary.

• Ensure that individuals are identified, contacted and invited to participate in Qatar Biobank in ways that are respectful of and within the religious, moral, ethical and cultural boundaries prevailing in Qatar and more widely in the region

• Specifically ensure that only appropriate and legal means of obtaining and using contact details of potential participants are used

• Ensure that in the absence of specific consent, personal details of individuals are protected and only used for the specific purpose of identifying and inviting potential participants

• Ensure that methods for identifying potential participants and sending invitations are aligned with international norms related to legal and ethnical compliance and research governance

• Participate in the management team for effective cross-functional working

• Any other duties as may be required from time to time by the Managing Director
