Resident Engineer / Project Manager - M+N Architecture

M+N Architecture is an Italian architectural firm based in Florence with a subsidiary company in the UAE since 2010 (M N Florence Architects LLC).

Our UAE office will imminently be in charge of the supervision of a school project in Abu Dhabi; the school for over students, is a G+2 building with a gross floor area of around ; the building will be built using a dry construction system based on light steel frame structure partially prefabricated off site, insulation panels and cement boards for outer and inner finish; the project can be defined as “fast-track” with an expected duration of the works on site of 8 months, as the school is due to open in September 2014.

With reference to this supervision, our firm is looking for the following professional:



1 - Resident Engineer / Project Manager: holder of a degree in Civil / Mechanical / Architectural Engineering from an international recognized University, with a minimum of 15 years experience in construction supervision and a minimum of 6 years experience in Abu Dhabi Emirate in the same field and at least 3 projects completed as Site Engineer/Resident Engineer/Project Manager in Abu Dhabi, fluent in English and Arabic, well experienced with local codes and authorities and with a good knowledge of FIDIC and local contract’s terms and conditions; must be proficient in Project Management and Construction Management and able to lead a site supervision team of around 10 people; must have knowledge of Autocad, MS Project, Excel and other softwares for project and construction management.



Other requirements:

- All candidates should be immediately available.

- Site will be fast track and will work on 2 shifts per day; all candidates should understand that overtime and overnight supervision may be required.

- Contract will be UAE standard labour contract and it will be based on a 210 hr timetable (48 hours per week, 6 days a week).

- After completion of the construction, unless we will be awarded other projects of similar size, we will terminate the employment contract with most of the above described staff.

- All candidates should be able to submit copy of an internationally recognized University degree in their respective fields in a maximum time of 2 weeks in original; such degree will have to be translated in English/Arabic and attested by the UAE embassy in the respective countries of origin. This is a mandatory pre-requisite as we cannot process the residency VISA and related work permit under our company without such document

- For all candidates it is mandatory to submit details of the projects they worked on (especially the ones in .-UAE) and reference letters or at least contacts of their references from previous work experiences.
