RF and Satellite Ground System Engineer - Praxis Consulting

Position Description:

This is the ideal role for a telecommunications professional with extensive knowledge of satellite technology and RF transmissions and related subsystems. As a Satellite Earth Station RF and Network Engineer, you'll be involved in:

• Acting as client’s primary SME in relation to RF and related satellite-based communication network.

• Planning, designing, and installation of satellite-based communications

• Providing deep subject matter expertise and guidance in the development and evaluation of new technologies and network designs

• Ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of the satellite ka and ku band ground system.

• Provide technical support for the implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting of existing RF infrastructure.

• Controlling project execution to support our clients new implementations and systems integration.

• Tracking and report problems whilst analyzing the results and planning for future system’s improvement.

• Undertaking daily ground system operations and monitoring the status as well as the performance of all RF subsystems and the remote satellite gateways using the Element Management Systems (EMS).

• Maintaining alarm monitoring of EMS applications resulting in continual subsystems’ monitoring

• Ensuring operational procedures are continually updated, followed and implemented

• Supporting the team lead in producing reports on operational activities

• Ascertaining correct and accurate operational activity, including logging and fault reporting

• Bringing strategic expertise to the development and execution of training courses

• Providing required knowledge transfer to applicable clients on RF technology
