Road and Traffic Engineer - RAK Municipality

Department: Infrastructure - Design Management (Roads + Drainage)



- This will be the contributor in Traffic Engineering and, internal point of specialized technical professional reference. The key role contribution is to combine the provision of focused expertise in Traffic in Road, Expressway and Highway with the ability to contribute to and monitor the appropriateness of this discipline’s application throughout the organization. Consequently the work will involve development of appropriate policy and operational, advice and guidance, standard setting, monitoring of activity and ongoing professional input.



- Technical leadership: Provide technical leadership in a specialized sub-discipline to support the engineering function in the development and sustaining of capabilities that contribute significantly to the achievement of business objectives and safety goals.



- Monitoring discipline best practice: Monitor, and draw valid conclusions from industry-specific global best practice within the specialized sub-discipline, as a basis for providing and sustaining technical leadership.



- Technical guidance: Provide guidance, where appropriate pro-actively to fellow professionals by acting as the focus of technical reference in the specialism to support maintain and develop the achievement of professional standards input expertise to policy and process development relevant to the area of expertise to support the achievement of business and professional objectives.



- Improvement opportunities: Identify opportunities for engineering improvements and investigate and support developments and improvements identified by others, all as a basis for effective and efficient implementation within accountable budgets.

- Updating know-how: Ensure that all specialized technical know - how is kept up to date in order to deliver all other accountabilities.



- Mentoring leadership: Lead and manage mentoring activities in the specialized discipline so as to maximize the effective transfer of expertise (knowledge, skills) to others.



- Health safety& environment: Ensure strict compliance all approved HSE procedures and practices in order to afford protection to life, property and the environment.
