Section Head Inventory Controller - Udeel

This position is for Government Oil and Gas Company, based in Abu Dhabi.



Plans, directs, coordinates and supervises the activities of the Inventory Management Department to provide the following:

•Control of the Al Hosn Stock Inventory to ensure continuous and safe operation of the Plant.

•Maintenance of Materials Catalogue to achieve stock economy through standardization / rationalization and to eliminate duplication and discrepancies. Ensures that all redundant stock items for eventual write-offs and or sales are reviewed and implemented in accordance with Al Hosn Gas policies.

This includes SAP Catalogue management, economical stock optimization and replenishment processing to meet and support business operational requirements. Resolves technical issues in relation to Plant material demand and assists to develop and implement short and medium term plans in this regard.



•Plans, directs and supervises the activities of assigned personnel in the Inventory Management Department. Performs supervisory functions and exercises financial authority at the level established by LT

•Advises Departmental Heads/Managers on the interpretation of the Company’s materials/inventory control policies and procedures.

•Develops materials control guidelines / procedures to expedite implementation and enhancement of existing systems and practices through continuous quality improvement process.

•Directs and supervises inventory and stock control activities. Includes ensuring proper maintenance of a computerized inventory control system, replenish stock in accordance with users demands and delivery periods, verifies and approves materials return, reservation and adjustment notes, regular stock clean-up exercises to ensure controlling data / parameters are up-to-date.

•Coordinates with Materials Operations Department (Das) on physical stock checks schedule timing, authorizing stock adjustment and resolving queries from Finance Division and Auditors.

•Ensures that aging, obsolete, redundant or surplus stocks are reviewed on continuous basis. Proposes write-offs and disposals as necessary and in accordance with the Company policies.

•Directs and supervises the materials cataloguing activities, ensuring standardization and rationalization. Controls and enhances the quality of the materials specification and purchasing descriptions retained in the materials master are maintained in accordance with internationals standards.

•Liaisons and coordinates with Shareholders’ / OPCO’s Inventory Management Department’s concerned and local suppliers / manufacturers on all matters related with Company’s inventory control and shipment, in a safe and cost effective manner.

•Supervises the preparation of reports and statistics for the Department on matters related to the inventory movements, values and sufficiency.

•Supervises the preparation of the Departmental annual revenue and capital budget, monitors expenditure and justifies variances.

•Identifies training needs and consolidates the training and development plans for his subordinates (with emphasis on UAE Nationals) in conjunction with supervisors and Human Resources Division. Administers the implementation of plans within Department.

•Reviews and evaluates, technically, quotations to assist in decision making and participates in meetings with end users and suppliers to resolve technical matters related to catalogue and stock items.

•Liaises with different users, Health, Safety & Environmental Division, Procurement Department, Inspection Engineers and site personnel whenever necessary to ensure that Company, International Materials Standards, Certification and Safety requirements are considered.

•Performs other related or similar duties as assigned such as conducting special and trial studies on Company’s inventory to optimize / improve the control system, working methods and effect appropriate decisions
