Senior Highway Surveyor - Doha, Qatar


Job Purpose:



The Expressways Projects are a programme of 28 highway projects within Qatar that have been divided into 9 Groups. Halcrow has been awarded Group-1 which comprises 4 number projects three of which are for construction supervision services and one for design and supervision services. The estimated construction value of the group-1 projects is in the order of QAR12bn. The projects are typically urban or sub-urban and so are complex in nature and will require interface management with stakeholders and adjacent projects.



The senior highway surveyor reports to the Resident Engineers and Assistant Resident Engineers for the various disciplines of works (roads, utilities, structures). The senior surveyor is also responsible for managing the survey team and be responsible for all issues and services relating surveying works on the project including:





Ensuring all information required for checking the works is correctly extracted from the drawings and contract documents and distributed to the survey team.



Review and approval of the contractor’s proposed setting out calculations and details.



Responding to all RFIs issued by the contractor within the time limits established by the Resident Engineers.



Keeping complete records of work executed daily.



Contribute to the weekly and monthly progress reports.



Periodic checking of the principal survey points and line and level of works to ensure work is carried out according to the drawings and provisions of the contract documents.



Checking of as-built works for conformance and ensure as built survey of the completed works is recorded for project hand-over.



Assisting the planning and quantity surveyor teams with progress and measurement of the works.



Ensuring coordination of project interfaces with existing infrastructure and other expressways projects as well as future stakeholder projects.

Basic Qualifications

Job Requirements:



Bachelor’s Degree



10 years relevant experience in major highway projects with emphasis on field surveying and ability to keep surveying notes.



Good oral and written English language with good computer skills



Must possess the ability to utilize modern survey equipment



Ability to use CAD and/or Civil3D would be an advantage
