Branch Manager - Sesame Club Nursery

Main Objective:

To manage the day to day organization of the branch and to ensure high standards of care, education, safety and well-being of children and the pre-school staff.



Main Duties and Responsibilities

Early Childcare and Education

- Ensure the developmental needs of all children are met

within a framework of planned activity and early learning

experiences

- In coordination with the staff team, prepare a long, medium

and short term curriculum plans

- Ensure high standards of quality assurance in all areas of

the early years curriculum

- Work in partnership with the staff team and management

committee to implement a broad, balanced and appropriate

early years curriculum.

- Adhere to the Child Protection Policy and report any cause of

concern

- Organize and facilitate termly progress meetings with parents

whenever it's needed

- Support, implement and regularly review all policies and

procedures in partnership with the management committee

- Manage nursery's budget

- Ensure the branch is adequately insured and all safety

equipment is maintained and regularly serviced (incl. fire

equipment, first aid resources)

- Attend relevant meetings any time outside working hours

- Regularly monitor and evaluate the quality of the service

- Prepare a monthly newsletter for Parents

- Facilitate regular staff meetings and curriculum planning

meetings

- Offer support, advice, supervision and direction to the staff

team and promote a strong sense of teamwork

- Encourage creative ideas

- Co-ordinate recruitment and selection procedures when

necessary in partnership with the management

- Carry-out regular appraisal of staff performance

- Encourage commitment to quality improvement through

ongoing professional development for the whole staff team
