SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Plan and select the range, type and quantity of products according to: customer demand (. price, quality and availability); trends; store policy & budget. Understand customer needs in order to maximize profits. Ensure selecting the most appropriate goods and services on the basis of price, quality, delivery times and services support

RESPONSIBILITIES:



1. Analyze consumer buying patterns and predict future trends

2. Source new and review existing merchandise to ensure that products remain competitive.

3. Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities; process price changes in coordination with suppliers and buying administration without violating Virgin’s procedures

4. Understand customer needs in order to maximize profits and provide a commercially viable range of merchandise at competitive prices.

5. Develop the best buying strategies with a view to maintaining consistent quality and managing costs.

6. Provide stores with display guidelines for a relieving store appearance

7. Execute regular communicated store visits

8. Review regularly performance indicators with sales

9. Manage plans for stock levels (RTV’s, campaigns, etc..) stay up to date with market trends and react to changes in demand

10. Provide full information about products to Catalogue department for creation

11. Submit complete supplier information along with required legal documents to Buying Admin for approval and creation

12. Process purchase orders for stock replenishment and new releases, follow up on reception with specific time frame and review orders received for accuracy and condition of merchandise

13. Give presentations about market analysis and possible growth

14. Meet suppliers, negotiate terms of contract (specify quality, quantity & delivery schedules) and monitor their progress

15. Ensure suppliers are aware of business objectives

16. Execute transfers once a week in limited quantities

17. Keep contract files and use them as reference for the future

18. Maintain relationships with existing suppliers, source new suppliers for future products and identify potential suppliers

19. Liaise with other departments within the organization to ensure projects are completed

20. Participate in promotional activities

21. Write reports and sales forecasts, and analyze sales figures

22. Liaise with shop personnel to ensure product/collection supply meets demand; communicate new releases, campaigns, transfers, RTV’s, etc.. ahead of time

23. Take part in inventory counts of related department (preparations, process and variance report study)

24. Seek merchandise feedback from customers

25. Train and mentor junior sales

26. Other duties as assigned
