Director of Equine Operations - Qatar Foundation

Job Purpose:

The Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Equine Operations Division of Al Shaqab which include Breeding & Show, Stable Management and various other aspects of Operations division. Responsibilities include developing and implementing an overall strategy in order to promote the Department in order to achieve high performance in terms of profitability, growth, efficiency and effectiveness.



KEY RESULT AREAS

• Develops and recommends the overall strategy of Al Shaqab and ensures stakeholder interests are met.

• Monitors, coordinates, plans, and organizes the overall activities of the academy, which include members training, and participating in the events.

• Communicates all activities and targets met to Senior Management.

• Provides input in developing training strategies for both horses and members within the Academy.

• Develops and maintains the academy culture as well as the academy reputation amongst staff, members and regulatory/official bodies.

• Evaluates and approves the management reporting system and any amendments required.

• Promotes the Academy image in the community.

• Conducts periodic meetings with department managers and section heads to discuss common management issues.

• Prepares monthly and annual reports and proposes them to the BOD for discussion.

• Ensures necessary coordination between departments in order to optimise performance.

• Supervises the proper implementation of the organization structure, job descriptions and authority matrices.

• Participates in local, national and international conferences and exhibitions relevant to the equestrian’ academies.

• Solves problems, disagreements and disputes that may occur between departments

• Evaluates staff and recommends annual raises according performance.

• Assumes all authorities outlined in the authority matrices.

• Performs extra duties as assigned.
