Health Club Manager - Career Hunters

-Effectively manage Health Club branch to maintain Health Club standards, and achieve budget and other agreed objectives

-Promote the desired work culture around our mission, vision, standards and ethos

-Install Health Club values and standards into staff so they fully understand and believe in the Health Club

-Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of workers engaged in planning, selling, and instructing fitness plans for clients

-Assist Managing Director, Operations Manager or HR Manager in recruiting staff who reflect the Health Club Standards in line with company procedures

-Assist in training of the staff according to company standard procedures, utilizing company courses, so they perform to company expectations; conduct aerobics instructor course as required.

-Develop staff, so they can progress within the company, and fulfill career aspirations

-Review performance regularly; job chats at least monthly initially, and then a minimum of six monthly appraisals in coordination with Staff Counselor

-Monitor SOP for the screening of all potential club users using company approved procedures, to spot risk factors and identify objectives

-Monitor the conduction of company approved fitness tests and tools for members

-Monitor SOP for prescribing programs that enhance member’s lifestyles, and promote behavior change

-Design and deliver a program of classes that meets members’ needs, and Health Club standards

-Liaise with Managing Director over best approaches to marketing, and monitor success of each marketing campaign

-Handle all enquiries and sales tours professionally, monitor and assist Assistant Manager and Membership Directors in handling all enquiries and sales tours professionally, skillfully aiming to maximize conversions

-Manage the membership enquiry systems in coordination with Assistant Manager and Membership Director, fully utilizing it in line with guidelines

-Drive all retail activities in club from Multiple Profit Centers (including beauty products, equipment sales and beverage) ensuring effective marketing, sales promotion, sales and after sales service

-Drive all other secondary spend activities in club from Multiple Profit Centers (including personal training, guest fees, class income) ensuring effective marketing, sales promotion, sales and after sales service

-Liaise with Managing Director, and comply with all company procedures

-To assist in review of the annual budget and identify short term objectives to achieve targets

-Review financial performance on a daily, weekly, monthly basis, take remedial action as appropriate. Provide accurate weekly and monthly figures as requested by Managing Director, and submit by deadlines

-Actively participate in training and development programs and maximize opportunities for self development

-Demonstrate service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards to include:

-Maintain a high level of knowledge which will enhance the clients experience

-Assist in the promotion of the Health Club by being involved in a variety of activities, including but not limited to events, exhibitions, TV and Media shoots

-Demonstrate an understanding and an awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety

-Ensure all security incidents, accidents and near misses are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of the Operations Manager

-Assist in the maintenance of all facility equipment and organize and supervise minor repair work

-Assist in the monitoring and control of the pool and spa in relation to those standards as given in the Maintenance / Pool & Spa Manuals

-Familiarize yourself with the company vision and values which link to our model of desired behaviors that we expect all employees to display

-Maintain regular and positive communication with Operations Manager and Managing Director and other key Head Office personnel
