Consumables Officer - Mediclinic City Hospital

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Consumables Officer is responsible for managing the end to end procurement process for all medical and non-medical consumable items for Mediclinic City Hospital and monitoring usage levels of consumables stock.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

-Procure medical and non-medical consumable items in line with inter-unit requirements

-Ensure that the end to end procurement process is managed according to Mediclinic Middle East set standards

-Act as the primary information source regarding preferred suppliers and consumable products for the Hospital

-Ensure that new item master and supplier code requests are forwarded to the Medical Materials Department

-Take responsibility for price negotiations with suppliers

-Implement Group standardization processes in the Hospital

-Take overall responsibility of new item evaluation process in the Hospital and liaise with end users Participate in the Hospital Pharmacy Committee, the Therapeutic Committee, and other relevant committees as required

-Ensure that stock levels are monitored and manage the distribution process of consumables in the Hospital Monitor the operational efficiency of the Hospital units as these efficiencies relate to consumables management; evaluate and report on these efficiencies

-Manage all annual and interim stock takes of consumable products in the Hospital Create and submit reports as required . month end report, operational and financial reports, cost management reports

-Attend to, and resolve, client complaints Maintain financial and administrative controls within the department
