The Risk Management division area of the business uses complex data and tools to understand all aspects of the credit quality of our customer base and explain portfolio trends to senior stakeholders and business partners. The team comprises of six key areas:
• Credit Card Portfolio Management;
• Personal Loans, Overdrafts and Transactional Product Portfolio Management;
• Small Business Lending Management;
• Collections Risk Management;
• Portfolio Management Information, Policy and Change Governance.
Primary Purpose of this Role:
• To support the Risk Strategy team to measure the effectiveness of policy, segmentation and strategy for all Retail portfolios.
Main Responsibilities:
• Responsible for reducing the loan impairment expense and/or driving portfolio profitability through innovative credit projects.
• Application of advanced analytics to explain key shifts in the portfolio and make strategic recommendations.
• End-to-end project management of key deliverables across credit risk ( credit strategy changes/implementation of decision tools such as credit scorecards & collections strategies).
• Recommend, develop, implement, monitor and challenge credit strategies across all aspects of the credit cycle (using appropriate financial measures such as LIE, bad rates, capital)
• Ensure all aspects of change management; policy assurance and control are in place across the products that the role is responsible for.
• Active consultant in projects that impact the portfolio across multiple teams (both within and outside credit risk)
Essential Experience/Skills Required:
• Tertiary qualifications in a quantitative discipline (. Mathematics, Statistics, etc).
• Experience with data analytics, preferably with large datasets/number of internal customers
• Advanced analytics skills - Able to generate value-add insights from complex data using tools such as Hadoop (or other Big Data tools), Teradata SQL, SAS or equivalent statistical tools
• Analytical mind with sound business insight, excellent communicator (verbal & written), highly meticulous and self-motivated.
• Self-starter, flexible with a proven ability to work well in teams, as well as being able to function with minimal supervision.
