Work Management Director - ENEC

To direct the plant work and outage activities including plant modification projects for the Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs) as per the regulatory requirements, operating policies and principles, nuclear standards for nuclear safety, employee safety, and environmental protection, to ensure overall business performance objectives are achieved.



Work Management

•Establish management expectations including safety culture and provide plant personnel periodical communication on the same in order to ensure that expectations are aligned throughout the department

•Conduct periodic visits to the plant facilities to check plant condition and ensure adherence to all quality and HSE standards

•Recommend station strategies, plans and management process improvements to support achieving station performance targets, and long term station reliability

•Establish effective management systems in the work management organization to fulfill the requirements of the Operating License and the Operating Policies and Principles

•Implement the necessary nuclear power plant management systems to establish and maintain continuity in all plant activities



Plant Performance Management

•Develop the work management and outage strategies and ensure alignment of all activities with the operational strategy to achieve business goals and objectives

•Ensure that actual performance is monitored against established performance criteria through various means such as self-assessment programs, performance monitoring programs, and direct personal observation in order to maintain optimal efficiency in delivering energy

•Ensure that problem solving and analysis is conducted when unacceptable performance deviations occur, and that corrective actions are initiated and tracked to resolution

•Approve the placing in service of permanent station modifications in line with the plant performance monitoring

•Modify and maintain the station systems and equipment and manage their performance in a manner which optimize equipment availability, ensure safety and long term reliability

•Approve, minimize, and maintain the oversight of the number of permanent and temporary modifications to the station in accordance with defined requirements and approve temporary changes to Special Safety Systems and Reactor Regulating Systems

•Ensure that long-term/repetitive problems are being evaluated, scheduled and resolved in order to avoid future operational discontinuity



Plant Projects / Modifications

•Approve station modification procedures in accordance with license requirements to ensure regulatory and operational compliance

•Act as the regular day-to-day contact for prompt communications with the UAE Regulation Institute related to station modification activities to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and guidelines

•Direct the modification of the station to ensure that activities operations are consistent with specified policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

•Establish standards for housekeeping, material condition, as well as modification effectiveness in line with operational guidelines

•Ensure that the station is consistent with nuclear modification requirements, the license, and design basis and ensures industry events related to plant projects are reviewed and lessons learned are incorporated into modification programs and processes



Staff Training and Qualification

•Establish management expectations, standards, goals and objectives for training, and communicates these standards, goals and expectations to all plant modification and work control staff for enhancing their capability and competence

•Actively coach staff to improve work performance and present management perspectives and nuclear operating experience to plant modification and work control staff



Budget

•Review and approve annual budget plan of the work control organization and monitors financial performance versus the budget to ensure alignment
