Intranet and Web Specialist - Arab center for research and policy studies

Reporting into the Enterprise Applications Manager, the Intranet and Web Specialist will be responsible for the business analysis, definition and design, development and deployment, training and provisioning of second and third line support of SharePoint based Intranet and Extranet applications built in and around the Doha Institute’s (DI) Collaboration space.



Key Responsibilities



• Ensure that the websites of the DI work properly, can be accessed effectively by as many people as possible, and are accessible equally well on a variety of browsers and/or operating systems.

• Business and needs analysis - Work with individuals and/or departments to develop and document a clear understanding of business and information needs and potential applications of SharePoint-based solutions.

• Design and implement new web based applications, or implement application changes as required, on SharePoint infrastructure.

• Handles SharePoint application administration in conjunction with other system and server farm administrators.

• Provide training and support to SharePoint application users.

• Provide analysis of the website’s business health and creates conversion paths so that the marketing team can monitor their efforts.

• Utilize latest technologies and make sure all DI sites and portals are always mobile-friendly and multi-platform ready

• Responsible for implementing the ongoing development of the websites of the DI and performing their day-to-day site maintenance.

• Ability to debug and fix issues that arise with the performance of the website.

• Set standards for design, perform navigation and browser compatibility, and perform quality-control for third party content.

• Implement search engine optimization (SEO) strategies; Promote websites of the Organization online to increase prominence within web community, where possible.

• Leverage web analytics solutions and help provide rich insights into website traffic and marketing effectiveness, if applicable.

• Monitor, improve, and update the performance of the existing websites of the Organization; Monitor web server and site technical performance.

• Ensure that the websites of the DI are secure; maintain control over who has access to secured pages.

• Document best practices and write maintainable development code with comprehensive comment tags.

• Responsible for evaluating and identifying new technologies for implementation.
