MECHANICAL ENGINEER - Olayan Financing Company

Role Purpose: knowledge of mechanical design and engineering techniques. Responsible to plan and conduct independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and Company standards.



PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES



• Requires a broad knowledge of precedents in the specialty area and a solid knowledge of principles and practices of related technical areas.

• Requires a broad knowledge of the application of engineering to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and materials.

• Performs assignments independently with instruction as to the general results expected and with guidance from Department Manager.

• Assigns and coordinates work to Drafters, Designers, and contractors.

• Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate program of assigned engineering work and projects.

• Ensure proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.

• Analyze Plumbing, firefighting and air-conditioning reports, drawings, tests, and other data to plan and design work.

• Assemble bid, approval, and construction issue drawing packages.

• Review bid analyses and make recommendations.

• Direct and/or participate in job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data.

• Coordinating with all parties that participate in project as civil engineer, architecture engineer and electrical engineer.

• Supervision on Plumbing, firefighting and air-conditioning work as the technical specifications and follow up the work plan.





PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (CONT’D)



• Check the Shop Drawings submitted by the Contractor for compliance with contract standards and specifications

• Check and evaluate Material Submittals of Plumbing, firefighting and air-conditioning items submitted by the contractor for construction purposes

• Inspect mechanical materials supplied on site

• To ensure that quality control of contractor’s works is maintained at all time to the satisfaction of the client and the end user





Operating Environment: Office work, site visit as & when required.
