Information Officer - Oxfam

• Set up and maintain an effective information management system relevant to the programme in Lebanon, Jordan and Syria.

• Writing the sitreps, circulating them and posting them on SUMUS and preparing internal communications, getting agreement on realistic sign-off processes.

• Attend external meetings as required and taking notes at meetings for circulation within Oxfam.

• Organising workable internal communications systems within response offices in-country via the most appropriate channels, and organising translations of key information where necessary.

• Being the focal point for all queries relating to beneficiary numbers, costings, programme facts & figures etc from other departments in Oxfam GB, affiliates, and external sources.

• Collecting, analysing and disseminating data (including monitoring and evaluation data) on the progress of the response on a regular basis.

• Development and implementation of a monthly newsletter; Coordinating inputs, write content and dissemination.

• Updating OPAL as required (Oxfam internal database).

• Support in the preparation (and logistics) of consultancies, reviews and evaluations.

• Ensuring adequate management of information and act on information requests both internally and externally.

• Supporting the humanitarian teams as requested by the Regional Programme Manager.

• Support the Senior Management Team in administrative tasks.

• Support the teams in Jordan, Lebanon and Syria with filling information gaps to enhance the delivery of the programmes. Eg UN databases.

• Assist with organizing visits of external visitors and support inductions of new staff.

• Join field visits to check contextual understanding, to cross check data and to ensure that the teams are receiving the support they need.
