Gateway Customs Broker - DHL Express

To facilitate Customs Clearance of shipments in the DHL network. Being a fully trained professional, it is essential that the lodging, classifying and compiling of entries (Customs Bayans) is completed in a timely and accurate manner for all Inbound Material.



Principal Accountabilities



• As a professional broker it is essential that entries are declared in accordance with GCC Customs compliance agreements.



• It is essential that correct lodgment declarations are made on behalf of customers. Whilst satisfying the legislation set by customs and regulatory laws.



• Maximize pre-clearances opportunity in accordance with established service guidelines within the GCC states.



• Ensure clearance authority, held, and clearance is completed in accordance with the importers instructions.



• It is critical that DHL finance department guidelines are followed in relation to the payment and collection of duties and regulatory charges (certificate of origin etc.).



• Ensure accurate and up to date information is held in the customer database (Customer Master File).



• To portray a professional, courteous and helpful attitude in all dealings with internal and external customers.



• To assist other departments with technical advise on clearance related issues.



• To prioritise the clearance flow in order to achieve fastest transit time possible.



• Help maintain a clean and safe working environment



e)Problem Solving

Identifying the problem, Go to the root of the same and come out with a cost effective and appropriate step to resolve the issue to the satisfaction of all parties involved.



f) Decision Making

Appropriate Decision to ensure the business is not effected or delayed in any.



g )Planning and Organizing

Priorities daily/monthly/yearly activities in order to process shipments without incurring delays.

h) Job Challenge

Shipments received, must be cleared same day. This requires influence in order to gain co-operation from customs staff.
