The Assistant Underwriter is responsible for collecting, organizing and entering data to evaluate the risk profile for prospects. Additional responsibilities include analyzing exposures to accept or reject new business and preparing submissions for pricing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Analyze prospect risk profile for suitability to product
• Compare documents and compile information required to thoroughly underwrite prospect
• Document notes regarding certain risks and exposures for scrutiny by Underwriting
• Enter submission information accurately and timely into the Underwriting application
• Correspond with outside agencies and internal business development representatives to obtain missing information
• Sort, collate, and file documents electronically
• Keep up to date on underwriting guidelines for reviewing submissions
• Assist with special projects and complete other duties as assigned
