Responsible for accounting and finance function of the division and achievement of division’s financial targets. The role also supports commercial activities of the department. Role demands robust standards of independence and objectivity.
• Build, develop and evaluate finance team; ensure team objectives are achieved. Supervise the team to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting records/systems and function. Support and assist in business processes to ensure smooth operation of the division.
• Manage working Capital and expenses through effective control and monitoring of Inventory, Receivables, Payable and expenses. Substantiate and justify Capex expenditures. Ensure effective utilization of assets. Ensure assets are adequately insured, safeguarded.
• Responsible for receivable collection for the entire division, supervise the collection effort of bill collectors. In case of non receipt of payment from the customers, interact with them and try to resolve with the help of sales team. In case of inordinate delay escalate the matter to senior level.
• Confirm and ensure periodic physical verification of cash, Supervise periodic physical verification of inventories, fixed assets.
• Prepare and report income statements and balance sheets of all business units in the division based on IFRS and Group accounting policies. Ensure and complete monthly closing process in time.
• Prepare Strategic Plan for the business involving the process owners. Control and supervise the financial & management accounting, business analysis and MIS activities of the division.
• Analyse business performance; identify and recommend opportunities for profit maximization and improvement in capital utilization. Provide/ensure meaningful, relevant information to management. Monitor and review the KPIs on monthly basis with management.
• Implement appropriate internal controls. Create, update, organize and implement policies and procedures for division's accounting system. Facilitate and meet internal audit, external audit and compliance requirements.
• Monitor, evaluate and manage risks.
• With the support of IT, improve and sustain division’s finance system. Identify, conceptualize, and implement process improvements, automation opportunities. Responsible for IT initiatives of the division.
• Implement proper financial and organizational processes for better recording of financial transactions.
• Develop and foster an environment of teamwork and collaboration.
• Work on special projects as needed and perform other duties as and when assigned.
