Network Engineer - Weill Cornell Medical College

Position Summary

Assist the Network Manager in all security and network design, implementation, maintenance, upgrade, and on-going management and security of communications infrastructure (voice, data, and videoconferencing).



Position Activities

• Assists in the maintenance, operation, and upgrade of all security and communications network - hardware and software as it relates to data, voice, and video services infrastructure.

• Coordinates security and network related issues with WCMC-NY and Ithaca.

• Assists in analyzing and diagnosing all security and network failures, glitches and malfunctions.

• Ensures that continuous enhancements are initiated in order to guarantee efficient resource utilization and acceptable response times to users.

• Facilitates and coordinates with vendors, suppliers, and IT teams (WCMC-Q and WCMC-NY) in resolution of security, network and systems faults or upgrades.

• Assists in the documentation of Hardware installation, upgrade, fault diagnostics, preventive maintenance and resolution.

• Ensure all the support contracts (Hardware/Software) for all the security and networking equipment/servers/ISP Services are renewed/ maintained.

• Ensure all system alert and security logs messages from security and networking equipment are monitored and appropriate actions are taken.

• Ensure timely backups are taken for all the security and network equipment.

• Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
