The Role:
The Business Solutions Engineer will typically use analytical and quantitative methods to review supply chain operations and performance, help develop practical solutions to address supply chain challenges in a plan-source-deliver-service business cycle and gain or improve subject matter expertise on supply chain process and technologies pertaining to retail.
Responsibilities will include:
- Implementing processes and systems to enable best in class supply chain practices within the various Alshaya divisions- Leading/participating in business requirements gathering, solution design, solution validation, etc- Leading/participating in selection processes for vendors, technologies, tools, etc- Helping with data migration, data cleanup and other required data modeling efforts within various applications- Developing test scenarios, cases and scripts to be used in UAT to test product features, solution and base architecture- Working closely with Finance, Business Operations, eGroup and vendor teams to deliver projects on time- Building relations and working closely with other teams within eGroup and the business- Continuously improving the quality of eGroup's delivery capabilities.
Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a Masters in engineering or business and ideally hold APICS, SCOR or CSCP certifications.
In addition, you will also have:
- Knowledge of techniques and methods for systems development, analysis, business process review, etc- Exposure to quantitative analyses and methods to solve business problems in supply chain performance optimisation- The ability to solve problems independently and work cohesively in team settings- Detail orientation and ability to align with big picture- Communication skills - the ability to extract detailed information regarding business requirements, or present solutions to various levels of audience, or comfortably discuss technical or non-technical topics in group settings- Experience in designing/developing/ implementing/using one or more of the following: Oracle Value Chain Planning suite of applications, specifically Demantra, Advanced Supply Chain Planning, with at least one full cycle implementation experience OR Shipping Process Automation systems such as Oracle, SAP, GT Nexus etc. (focus on Shipping & Freight) OR Warehouse Management Systems such as Manhattan, Oracle, SAP, etc- Experience of Big data applications using visualisation tools- Had exposure to supply chain metrics and standard reference models such as SCOR (v 10.0 or later).
