Design activities are crucial to ensure that Nuclear Power Plant equipment performance and material condition effectively support safe and reliable plant operation. Design engineer executes plant design activities including preparation and review of design documents, procedures, drawings and technical reports, equipment and systems testing support, and modification and upgrade of equipment and systems to ensure that NPP equipment and systems function to meet design requirements and technical specifications, and initiates design changes that ensure the plant configuration is maintained in conformance with design and licensing bases, and remains within the safe operating envelope.
