Senior Internal Auditor - GUARDIAN INSURANCE BROKERS

The Internal Auditor is responsible for adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of the organization’s internal control systems and procedures and recommends corrective actions to improve operations, enhance controls, and reduce liability.

SCOPE (The way that the position contributes to and impacts on the organization)Internal Auditor provides objective assessment of the effectiveness and efficiency of a company’s operations, specifically its internal control structure. Review the accounts of organizations to ensure the validity and legality of financial records. Act in an advisory role to recommend possible risk aversion measures and cost savings that could be made. Examine reliability of financial reporting, deterring and detecting fraud, and compliance with laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES(Major responsibilities and target accomplishments expected of the position including the typical problems encountered in carrying out the responsibilities.)

• Evaluates and provides reasonable assurance that risk management, control, and governance systems are functioning as intended and will enable the organization’s objectives and goals to be met• Reports risk management issues and internal controls deficiencies identified directly to management and provides recommendations for improving the organization’s operations, in terms of both efficient and effective performance• Evaluates information security and associated risk exposures• Evaluates regulatory compliance program with consultation from legal counsel• Evaluates the organization’s readiness in case of business interruption• Maintains open communication with management and the audit committee• Teams with other internal and external resources as appropriate• Engages in continuous education and staff development• provides support to the company's anti-fraud programs.
