Hypermarket Floor Supervisor

The purpose of the Floor supervisor is to effectively plan, control and monitor the performance of his departments to ensure that they operate at an optimal level

Develop and Implement strategies to meet sales targets across departments

Develop and Implement strategies to meet targets across departments

Monitor scan rates and develop ways to improve scan rates across departments

Monitor wastage and develop and implement methods to reduce wastage across departments

Develop and implement shrinkage controls across departments

Manage expenses within budgets

Optimize sales/m2 for each department by setting targets per product category

Evaluate rate of sales / product category and implement recommendations forimprovement

Identify ideal stock levels per product category

Determine range per product category

Evaluate ordering records per product category in relation to rate of sale

Evaluate delivery schedules and implement recommendations for improvement on amonthly basis

Conduct spot checks of products received x2 per day

Conduct spot checks to ensure that KVI’s are in stock

Implement category stock counts cyclical schedule and investigate variances

Manage Swell allowance within given parameters

Develop methods to improve stock turns across departments

Conduct spot checks across departments

Conduct spot checks across departments and develop methods to improve accuracyof pricing on shelf

Analyze price surveys and determine key lines that require price adjustment andimplement accordingly

Spot check PLU’s and develop and implement ways to maintain up to date accuratepricing

Spot check sales floor to ensure all products have neat and tidy pricesdisplayed

Theme POS is neat and tidy and removed once the theme is over (eg. Easter)

Design promotional concept to appeal to target market

Good products at good prices

Verify promotional orders regarding quantities / timing

Spot check promotional items are accurately inputted onto the system

Spot check pos and develop ways to ensure that POS is up to date and accurate

Spot check prices and develop ways to ensure accurate prices at all times

Evaluate stock levels according to rate of sales and duration of promotion to reduce insufficient / surplus stock

For each promotion to determine successes and failures of the promotion

Weekly across product categories

Conduct spot checks daily to ensure all stock is clean and neatly displayed

All floors clean and well maintained

Conduct spot checks to ensure that all ticketing is clean and tidy ticketing onall products

Conduct daily spot checks across all departments to ensure display units areclean and dust free

Maintained all equipment used including Telxons / merchandising trolleys /Shelving / ticketing system etc.

Develop and implement methods to increase swab test results

Develop and implement methods to improve customer care results

Develop and implement methods to improve safety check audits

Using correct procedures

Set training targets per department and implement

To meet job and organizational requirements

All staff are aware of the required work standards and are given a performance review at 2x per year

Communicate new developments with staff on an ongoing basis

Evaluate shifts and rosters to optimize staff within budget, limiting use ofcasuals and overtime on a weekly and monthly basis

Planned annual leave cycles

Satisfied customers

Develop personalized relationships with regular customers
