Senior Estimation Engineer

Responsible for gathering data required to prepare detailed Estimates, perform comparison of scope, and quantity take off.

• Reviews tender bill of quantities & discusses in order to ensure that all required elements are present.

• Estimates resources required such as direct labor, construction equipment etc for each activity to enable them to be accurately costed.

• Prepares estimates for direct costs including labor wages, equipment hire and all other costs etc using judgment to ensure that the relevant & appropriate figures are applied.

• Shows creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricing from subcontractors.

• Prepares subcontractor bid packages.

• Submits bids and budgets in a timely manner.

• Reviews bid requirements thoroughly and requests additional information as needed.

• Understands how to fit subs to the size/ scope of project.

• Prepares estimate related technical proposal deliverables (e.g. equipment lists, manpower histograms etc) for insertion in the proposal.

• Prepares indirect cost estimate and reviews the technical proposal under the supervision of department manager or head.

• Assists the manager or head in ensuring effective post award hand over.

• Studies tender documentation in order to gain a clear overall understanding and to fully appreciate the requirements for specific technical areas and to appreciate the relevant construction methods.
