IT Manager



The Manager- IT manages Software development and IT support function; includes HMIS modules and all the Administrative (Financials, HR and Payroll) modules. Works closely with all other sections of the Department and maintains close liaison and communication with key users of HMIS and Administrative modules.

1. Supports all IT operations to meet customer requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing infrastructure, applications, and development of new technical solutions

2. Designs and develops software, support and manages the software team to deliver software systems to fulfill Hospital Users and Management needs.

3. Oversees the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages.

4. Manages software design, development and support processes. Streamlines the process to address end-user requests

5. Serves as primary contact with outside vendors to evaluate and select vendors for any services required.

6. Ensures appropriate documentation for software development requests by end-users.

7. Designs and oversees development of reports for Hospital Management and operational users

8. Assesses feasibility, selection and supervision of outsourced IT services.

9. Participates and works closely with Senior IT Manager to develop and implement policies, procedures and programs to ensure departmental effectiveness

10. Develop Strategic IT plans

11. Directs the preparation and maintenance of department reports. Prepares periodic reports for senior management as required.

12. Facilitates in recruiting, hiring, and providing appropriate training for IT support staff

13. Participates in Meetings with Managers/Individuals to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines

14. Makes recommendations regarding purchase of technology resources. Researches current and potential resources and services

15. Keeps abreast of software development in the Hospital and Management fields and makes recommendations accordingly

16. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep up-to-date of the latest trends in field of expertise.

17. performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
