Our client is looking for a Senior Operations Officer to join their team based in Abu Dhabi.

They are a government backed institution which manages a multi-billion dollar investment portfolio of organisations operating within the mentioned regions and is very influential in the economic growth of Abu Dhabi.







Description



The successful candidate will provide support to Portfolio Managers, including reconciling trades, manual inputting of trades, establishing new broker and DVP accounts, communicating with Brokers and custodians in general both verbally and in writing; supplying custodians with trade-related information, reconciling internal portfolio reports with custodian records; recording securities transfers; and responding to corporate actions



Trading

- Validate front office activities recording on Order Management System based on brokers Trade confirmation tracking- Act as a backup trader and be able to perform primary trading responsibilities, as needed





Reconciliation

- Reconciliations - with regard to trades from the prior day, check accuracy of trades, including commissions, and resolve any discrepancies- Verify commissions and maintain spreadsheets - monthly activity- Prepare and communicate brokers and custodians instructions





Trade Settlements

- Ensure trades settle correctly and resolve any discrepancies- Monitoring and resolving trade related alerts from custodians





New Accounts

- Setting up new trading accounts- Set-up broker and DVP accounts, crosschecking market value, shares, symbol, and name, as needed- Crosschecking new accounts to ensure accuracy of securities





Data maintenance

- Obtain required data for adding "new" securities to the Advent Securities Information file, as needed- Update broker and custodian commission schedules, as needed





Cash Management

- Follow up cash positions with brokers and make transfers excess cash to Custodians as per the guidelines





Corporate Actions

- Keep Portfolio Managers abreast of corporate actions affecting securities held, and Take appropriate action based on Portfolio Managers' input





Continuous Improvement

- Participates in the improvement projects related to Operations.- Undertakes similar or related duties as directed by senior management





Profile

- Bachelors Degree- Broad knowledge of equity and fixed income securities- Specific knowledge of Advent Axys, Advent Moxy, Advent Apx - Basic accounting knowledge- Advanced computer skills- Knowledge of Bloomberg and Reuters- Good written and spoken English- Good written Arabic skills
