The Head of editorial directs the development and implementation of Publications Department to ranging from scholarly publications about the collections and major exhibition catalogues to a variety of publications that accompany exhibitions, special events, and educational programs (brochures, hand outs, invitations, and press releases and announcements, as well as public relations and marketing content). The Head of editorial is responsible for establishing Museum guidelines and standards relative to use of the written word and of the Museum's graphic presentation, including publication guidelines, procedures, style manuals (relating to the museum’s brand). The position is also responsible for authors' contracts for curators, visiting scholars, outside authors, and student interns, and for ensuring that publication standards are maintained. Responsibilities include all phases associated with overseeing content to delivery to QM publications house: editing of publication projects.
