Our client, a local company is currently seeking to recruit Specialist - Software Engineering. You will be reporting directly to the Specialist- Software Engineering (Lead). This position will be based in Al Ain
Job Purpose
To lead and provide the expertise required to develop or oversee the development of safety critical software solutions focusing on feedback control, flight control, system/subsystem management and navigation algorithms for autonomous systems applications.
Job Responsibilities (Key Result Areas)
• To develop software requirements based on system and operational requirements.
• To develop software design based on software requirements.
• To code software components based on software requirements and design.
• To define test procedures and perform unit testing.
• To perform software and system integration.
• To perform verification methods such as tests, analysis and reviews.
• To lead the above activities for a technical team.
• To ensure that the V model for system development is followed and apply ARP4754 standard and RTCA/DO -178B guideline for system engineering and safety critical software development respectively.
• To ensure support for and to contribute to program milestones and major reviews (such as SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR etc.).
• To comply with established company’s software development, quality assurance and configuration management guidelines and processes.
• To comply with company statutory requirements, rules and safety requirements.
• To provide mentor ship to software analysts and follow company’s internal guideline and processes.
Operating Environment
• Able to work under pressure, with changing priorities, and willingness to put in the extra time to develop and to perform the assignments/tasks given; willing to travel and to provide field support during testing when required.
• The job is performed under general guidelines from the Group Manager (due to its seniority); daily work schedules and the prioritization of day to day work is left to the individual.
• The position may entail mentoring responsibility of software analysts.
