Middle East Jobs: Database Administrator

On behalf of a global FMCG client we are seeking a Database Administrator for their Riyadh head office.

 Plan, install, administer, control and maintain databases to ensure integrity, consistency, and security of databases, while guaranteeing their 24x7 availability

 Monitor the storage and software performance, and the overall quality of service provided by companies enterprise level databases, and their constituent hardware, software, transmission services and support functions

 Plan, coordinate and administer computerized databases for the Corporate Head Office and Branches by taking regular backups, including security, logging and reporting for databases under safety standards

 Create data models, perform data migration, data imports and monitor the database for potential problems

 Design, create, and maintain database dictionaries, access and reporting methods, data integrity and validation checks and procedures, statistical algorithms, documentation and overall monitoring procedures

 Participate in application testing of data systems interfaces with a focus on data integrity to ensure that all database, integration and data related problems are effectively resolved

 Follow established guidelines, processes and procedures in providing support to incidents and problems and determines the appropriate course of action and escalation

 Participate in the development of database disaster recovery plans to ensure continuity and availability of database

 Contribute to the development of adequate, accurate and timely reports on database operations and related activities, vendor / system performance and customer satisfaction

 Recommend policies, procedures and standards relating to database management at the corporate Head Office and Branches

 Liaise with vendors to assure enhancements and upgrades are applied on databases

 Engage and advise end users on new or optimal technologies or methods to improve the functionality and/or efficiency of the organization’s databases and meet user needs

 Investigate problems and assist in developing appropriate solutions which may require system modifications and enhancements, or changing operating procedures

 Support the coordinate the overall design and implementation of the current and future Database strategy by managing and monitoring the system specifications of software and storage devices.

 Create customized end user reports and assist departments to maximize the utilization of data stored
