About the Role:
This role contributes to the development of new scientific innovations within the Kerry R, D&A team. Applies highly developed specialist knowledge and skills in scientific Research and Development area of his/her specialisation. Supports R, D&A with analyses, tests and insights. This involves, feasibility studies, development and scale-up/production trials. Is responsible for undertaking research activities (testing measures) for projects / opportunities. Monitors, analyses, records product development problems and refers to a more senior position for final decisions and approval where required.

Global Innovation & Technology Centre, Naas, Ireland (near Dublin)
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts basic research for the improvement of existing products and the development of new products, outlining procedures and specifications.
- Ensures that ingredient functionality into final products fits the purpose of the customer.
- Conducts sensory testing and application screening to support new solutions and sales. Understands key commercial requirements of the ingredient industry.
- Implements industry recognised methods and keeps up to date on best practice requirements.
- Develops methods for analysis
- Provides insights into consumer trends.
- Responsible for product development from initiation to launch conferring with Senior Scientists / R, D&A Managers where appropriate
- Interacts with process engineers, flavour experts, sales staff, marketing and End Use Market team, suppliers, manufacturing, customers and packaging and marketing specialists to resolve problems.
•- Develops food system formulations and related applications stability performance through demonstrated understanding of food formulation and chemical interactions.
- Interacts and troubleshoots with customers on application concerns; fosters relationships with peers at key accounts; assists customers with technical issues that may arise.
- Ensures that good laboratory practices and lab protocols are being met
- Establishes strong relationships with selected academic researchers and universities to strengthen the use of application abilities and pilot plant capabilities to strengthen Kerry as a leader.
