Senior Drilling Engineer - Huxley Associates

- To diligently plan, engineer, organise, support and report on the company’s well operations in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner, achieving technical objectives by applying accepted well engineering standards and practices.



- Providing advice and technical specification during pre-qualification and tender evaluation phases in order to ensure that the choice of contractors and suppliers fully meet with technical targets and company standards. Support the tender evaluation process and make recommendations as required for wells project material/equipment supply and third party services provision.



- Supply well cost estimates for future operations budgets including scenario evaluations. Prepare detailed project Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) and track daily well and projects costs against AFE during all operations.



- Organisation of drilling engineering activities and as required support well site operations (drilling rigs, work-over rigs, wire line, coil tubing, flush by units and high pressure pumping operations)



- Prepare Basis of Well Design (BOD) documentation. Prepare and review the Drilling Programmes, Daily Well Reports and Final End of Well Reports and ensure technical analysis about the operations as per SMS and corporate requirements. Ensure that an auditable trail exists.



- Work closely with the HSE and operational teams to prepare and deliver risk assessments for well programmes and operations. Participate in the audit process.



- Prepare all relevant documents and submissions for well operations required by regulatory bodies (DECC/HSE/EA) and appointed well examiners.



- Research, review and recommend new or advanced technology/techniques related to well engineering and operations relevant to the company’s assets and operations.



- Responsible for drilling technical input to company’s Safety Management System. Review and update all Drilling Procedures, Manuals and other wells documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and current legislation.



- Ensure management of and compliance with Company’s well integrity management scheme for all projects and operations.



- Participation in TCM/OCM and regulatory meetings.
