- To provide beauty services such as cutting, shampooing, coloring and styling hair, and treating and massaging the scalp. This job specification may also include applying makeup, dressing wigs, performing hair removal and providing skin and hair grooming services.
- Assisting other hairdressers with shampooing, client preparation, applying and removing simple hairdressing treatments
- Attending hairdressing training and seminars in order to keep up to date with emerging techniques and products
- Ensuring a warm friendly welcome to costumers at all times.
- Listening, understanding and repeating the wishes to costumers and addressing their requirements.
- Manage stock and supplies in the store.
- Ordering and receiving supplies when required.
- Maintain client records and scheduling of appointments.
- Up sell retail products.
- Cleaning the salon, equipment and work areas.
- Advising clients on hair care, recommending products and providing technical assistance.
- Ability to handle difficult customers and solve any issue related to unsatisfactory results of coloring, cut or customer service.
- Cutting and styling hair.
- Shampooing, conditioning and rinsing hair.
- Providing services such as conditioning, bleaching, permanent waving, tinting and straightening hair.
- Drying and styling hair using combs, brushes, straightening irons and any other equipment.
- Cleaning, coloring, adjusting, curling and cutting wigs and hairpieces
- Ensure that a cleanup is done immediately after each client and are constantly disinfecting reusable tools, ensuring a clean workspace.
- Sterilizing and maintaining equipment.
- Taking care of the day-to-day activities involved in running the salon.
- Operating a computer and cash register.
- Performing reception duties including answering phone calls and enquiry emails.
- An effective hairstylist has the ability to create, develop and enhance their client's personal appearance. Hairstylists are vital to customers because of their training and expertise in creating or maintaining a hairstyle.
- Respect the integrity of personal costumer’s information’s.
