Vice President – Advisory Services - Career Hunters

To set the direction of the Advisory Services team and execute the operational plan of the division in line with the client’s strategic priorities and direction. The jobholder is also responsible to provide regular guidance and expertise to the team, monitor their operations and ensure delivery of high quality investment advice to facilitate effective management of third party mandates and investment decision-making



Job Responsibilities



Strategic Responsibilities:



-Works closely with the Senior Vice President -Asset Management & Advisory Services, and other

Department Heads as appropriate to monitor progress, manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are

kept informed about progress and expected outcomes on the identified/potential investments for third

party mandates

-Implements and executes the annual division plan for Advisory Services division including division

budget based on past trends and forecasts on anticipated projects during the year

-Participates and provides inputs in various control, governance and advisory committees, as applicable

to the role

-Actively seeks new investment mandates



Advisory Services:

-Supervises the development and establishment of professional methodologies for financial planning,

investment strategies, balancing and re-balancing of portfolios and asset allocation strategies in order

to ensure provision of high quality investment advice to clients

-Stays abreast of current business and relevant industry trends

- Leads the due diligence exercise and conducts feasibility analysis for identified/proposed investment

opportunities for all third party mandates

- Monitors the quality of research reports released by the department and ensures that coverage of

research, quality of analysis and quality of presentation is maintained and improved

- Performs extensive financial analysis and modelling in a variety of investment related areas including

asset allocation, investment deployment, risk management and valuation

-Prepares recommendation reports related to identifying potential/proposed investment opportunities

and obtains the requisite support or approvals from SVP - Asset Management & Advisory Services for

presentation to the relevant investment committee

-Prepare the recommendation reports related to exiting investments

-Leads the acquisition and sale processes for all third party mandates

-Coordinates the preparation of all requisite legal documentation required through all phases of the investment process

-Prepares the draft proposals for third party mandates

-Conducts periodic reviews of fee generation in the Advisory Services Division and assists in developing

strategies to enhance performance

- Provides financial expertise in structuring deals and securitizations, to ensure that these address the

investor requirements suitably, and are aligned with the risk and investment guidelines of the client and the

investment mandate

-Supervises the development and implementation of standardized work flows within the division to

complement business plans and to bring about efficiency and quality in work output



Managerial Responsibilities:



-Forecasts division budgets in conjunction with the organizational budget and secures subsequent

approval, tracks expenses and ensures adherence

- Finalizes the manning needs of the Advisory Services division and obtains requisite approvals

-Recommends reporting staff to SVP-AMAS to participate in Cross Functional Teams (CFT) and actively

participates in any assigned CFT’s

- Manages the team under the Advisory Services division by evaluating the performance of team

members, provides feedback on an on-going basis, identifies development needs and coaches them to

ensure on-going capability development

- Identifies training needs and organizes training for the division on various aspects on which the role

holder has responsibilities
