Safety Supervisor

Major Duties and Responsibilities



1. Manage the Department activities with respect to safety, occupational health and environmental protection.



2. Develop and implement the policies and procedures for safety, occupational health and environmental protection.



3. Determine safety & health requirements based on standard procedures, civil defense requirements, and supplier agreements to form the Security, Safety and Health Plan.



4. Develop the Safety & Health Plan which shall include:



• Safety Requirements

Utilize safety requirements to update the means of avoiding or detecting the exposure time of a hazard based on new experience gathered.



• Safety Processes

Cover safety engineering for safety verification and independent safety assessment activities (. audits, evaluations, etc.).



• Safety Criteria and Specifications

Determine safety criteria and specifications which shall cover the development of risk targets in order to specify the acceptable level of safety within the Company and are based upon the safety requirements.



• Safety Organization

Consider such issues as independence from a technical and a management perspective and how disputes involving safety are resolved.



• Safety Training

Plan and implement safety training classes for Company employees and ensure that emergency preparedness exercises and drills are conducted on a regular basis.



• Safety Reports

Review safety performance reports and safety plans. Review incident/accident reports and update safety targets to specify the acceptable level of safety based on the latest incident. Analyze the impacts of the safety procedures and the safety reports on the Company such as down-time due to safety inspections and frequency of incidents based on the incident logs and update strategy to meet the goals of the Department.



5. Monitor compliance with internal safety requirements as well as external regulatory agencies.



6. Support operational personnel to ensure that systems are in place to drive continuous improvement in employee safety programs and regulatory compliance.



7. Manage and oversee environmental matters such as waste disposal, water pollution control, air pollution control, hazardous substances regulation, spill prevention, response and remediation.

8. Review documentation of environmental policies, implement and manage all environmental regulatory requirements in coordination with the environmental engineers.



9. Manage the avoidance of hazardous environmental effects such as fires and other related environmental disasters caused by the plant.



10. Conduct investigation of accidents relating to occupational hazards using Department’s policies and procedures.



11. Develop a risk management plan to manage and reduce the risk as much as possible in relation to accidents that may occur. The plan should cover worst-case scenarios of maximum risk and a risk mitigation strategy to reduce security, safety and environmental risks.



12. Provide advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to Department personnel to carry out major plans and procedures consistent with established policies.
