Job summary:
The Payroll Specialist will ensure timely preparation and accurate distribution of salaries and related benefits. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for monitoring all tasks necessary to accomplish DWTC’s payroll processing objectives. This position is also responsible for compliance on both internal policies and external regulations.
Major responsibilities and accountabilities:
• Handle payroll process end to end in HRMS payroll. Provide resolution or suggest workarounds where required.
• Assists in the development of overall payroll procedures by evaluating current processes and suggesting methods to improve operations, efficiency and service.
• Interface with accounting department for all payroll accounting processes, journal entries to general ledger, reconciliation, etc.
• Enters data into computer system for additions, changes or deletions and process HR & Payroll action forms in a timely manner to ensure delivery of accurate and prompt employee payroll.
• Maintains all payroll records, reports, computations and audits
• Maintain and validate current payroll reconciliations
• Liaison with Finance related to monthly payroll transactions and resolved queries as and when appeared.
• Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, vacation accrual, deductions, benefit deductions, etc.) for management.
• Answers 2nd level payroll inquiries, assists employees in resolving payroll issues, and resolves disputes as they arise.
• Researches and resolved employee and system problems as they arise.
• Keeps abreast of the payroll processing system and changes in salary and benefits policies.
• Maintains the payroll system calendar schedules and coordinates changes with the finance office and banks.
• Assist with the research and development of internal payroll procedures, controls and forms for day to day payroll operation and month end payroll processing.
• Establishes payroll deadlines and ensure the deadlines are met in line with laid down DWTC and HR Policies, Procedural compliance and in conjunction with schedules of other Depts. to produce timely and accurate payroll every month.
• Research Payroll information and prepare clear, concise, comprehensive and accurate statistical and analytical HR & Payroll Reports.
• Ensure that month end payroll processing and Bank interface are carried out timely and accurately every month and related reports are produced, verified for correctness.
• Maintain responsibility for systematic and up to date record keeping in relation to employee payroll files.
• Advises on system issues and automation of payroll process to ensure system stability and process speed, accuracy and efficiency.
