Production/ Manufacturing Manager

This role will provide overall management of the Production Function, the Manager will work with other functional colleagues in providing high-level direction and management of the facility. He will also be involved in the future development of the facility and its employees.



- Manage the production process to meet production targets and customer requirements



- Collaborate with both of the QA&Process, & the maintenance functions to ensure quality standards are in place and reduce downtime and scrap..



- Work closely with production planning (and where appropriate, the Commercial Department) to achieve optimum output, minimum changeover, minimum scrap and downtime and to meet customer delivery dates.



- Maintain an overview of process stability, and other quality issues within the Department, initiating appropriate corrective or improvement actions as required, in line with approved Company procedures.



- Work closely with EHS staff to develop and implement safe working practices and procedures, for employees, visitors and contractors, in line with company protocols.



- Conduct ongoing review of Manufacturing Function activities to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with ABS principles



- work with the Plant Manager and other members of the management group to forge an effective team that provides leadership and direction of the plant, in support of business objectives



- Balance the need to work profitably and efficiently without compromising the product quality and hygiene standards is a challenge that must be met on an on-going basis.



- Act as Line Manager to Direct Reports taking responsibility for their appraisal, training & development as well as discipline and grievance
