The Senior Communication Officer (PIO) will work closely with NRC’s Roving Media Adviser and HO media advisers. NRC Jordan expects the PIO to be able to quickly get an overview of NRC Jordan’s operations and immediately begin delivering high quality communication materials. The PIO but will be expected to work independently and fill the role without intensive daily supervision and instruction.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
•Promote NRC Jordan in local and international media
•Representation of NRC at field visits by media, donors and others
•Liaise with NRC’s External Relations Department regarding visits, events and requests for information materials
•Draft human interest stories, media updates and talking points in English and Arabic for use by NRC Jordan and NRC Head Office
•Implement internal communication initiatives such as an internal newsletter
•Contribute to the production NRC visibility items such as of calendars, brochures and posters
•Establish a media network and continuously update NRC’s media contact list for Jordanian and international media
•Support Advocacy initiatives identified by NRC Jordan or NRC Head Office.
•Implement - and on a daily basis maintain - a social media platform for NRC Jordan: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram
•Photo documentation of NRC’s activities
•Liaise with photographers, designers and printing presses
•Implement and maintain a picture database
•Any other tasks as requested by NRC Jordan’s country director
