Senior Z/OS Operator - Huxley Associates

Our client - one of the reputable IT companies in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is currently looking for a suitable candidate for the role of "Senior Z/OS Operator" position.



Objective:



Ensure availability and performance of all system related hardware and software on the z/OS operating systems and system tasks according to the availability and performance targets.



Accountable to: Operations Manager



Responsible for Operating and monitoring z/OS & JES2 and all system tasks.



Working relationships: Works closely with systems support in z/OS, DB2, CICS, Networking and Websphere groups.



Key tasks:



- Problem recognition, analysis, solving and escalation to support if problem persist.



- Experience in IBM (Tivoli) SA, System Automation.



- Open incident tickets



- Restart of system tasks (manual or via AOC, SA)



- Perform system IPL's



- Monitor batch jobs (i.e. weekly and monthly backups)



- Operating and monitoring of VTS and printers.



- Documentation of computer center procedures.



Core skills:



- Knowledge of standard IBM Mainframe hardware and software.



- Knowledge of IBM operating concepts z/OS, JES2.



- TSO, ISPF, SDSF advanced.



- TWS (OPC) advanced.



- SA z/OS (AOC) advanced



- CICS, DB2, HSM, SYSVIEW, OMEGAMON advanced.



Time Horizon:



12+ or more years EDP experience in multi mainframe IBM computer center.



Qualification:



15 + Years of relevant experience as z/OS (MVS or OS/390) systems programmer.
