Chief Engineer - Rolling Stock - Roads and Transport Authority

•Initiate, follow-up and coordinate vehicle maintenance initiatives and activities.

•Review and ongoing analysis of data and reports received on rolling stock performance.

•Evaluate performance of the maintainer / operator addressing issues and appraise solutions and, where necessary, recommend alternatives.

•Audit and Validate rolling stock performance against System Performance Report provided by the O&M Contractor.

•Coordinate and monitor rolling stock related interfaces and integration with other disciplines (. Platform screen doors, Signaling, SCADA, Comms. and Power supply, ).

•Monitor (maintainer manages the process) and ensure the implementation of the preventive and corrective maintenance of the rolling stock. and related features.

•Monitor warranty process

•Analyse rolling stock related RAMS performance against design specification

•Review, assess and monitor rolling stock performance and progress in conjunction with the operation department and other departments whenever applicable.

•Carryout oversight of design, testing and commissioning of rolling stock introduction upgrades, rectification and make comment/recommendation as necessary.

•Review and Monitor Rolling Stock maintenance specifications and standards for all subsystems (. collector shoe, HVAC, door control, propulsion and control, auxiliary power, wiring, Train Control and Monitoring system (TCMS), car body, Brakes, VAC, Bogies, etc.).

•Conduct site visit and inspections to verify and monitor rolling stock maintenance works quality and progress

•Provide rolling stock preventive and corrective maintenance activities status and issues and prepare technical report for Rolling Stock Manager.

•Monitoring and analyse rolling stock performance, failure trend/statistics and report/recommend improvement action plan to the maintainer

Supervise and ensure that the maintainer performs and complies with all contractual obligations.

•Ensure all reporting requirements, are met and maintain accurate records concerning rolling stock related data.

•Analyzing TCMS logs and ensure robust decision-making regarding Rolling Stock maintenance activities to ensure safe and efficient train service operations.

•Provide relevant support for decision making concerning Rolling Stock with Rolling stock Manager and Chief Engineer.

•Performs other responsibilities associated with this position when appropriate.
