Job Purpose:
The Director will work under the executive direction of the Chairman of Cultural Board of Directors, Qatar Foundation in Doha, Qatar. The incumbent will drive a high performance organization consisting of four departments: The Heritage Library, Museum for Arab Modern Art, and Cultural Affairs Department as well as other departments that may be developed under CDC in the future.
The Executive Director will oversee advanced professional and administrative work in planning, guiding. Directing and executing the CDC’s cultural plan. The candidate must have a combination of both highly recognized academic standards and excellent experience in cultural management.
KEY RESULT AREAS
Identify, develop and direct the implementation of long-range and strategic plans for CDC in keeping with its mission and vision.
Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of CDC performance.
Work with the Chairman and Cultural Board of Directors to develop and administer plans and policies.
Ensure activities meet with and integrate with the Foundation’s requirements For quality management, code of conduct legal stipulations, and general duty of care.
Liaise with heads CDC entities to assess and understand all necessary aspects of organizational development and to ensure they are fully informed of the objectives. purposes and achievements of their units.
Contribute to executive policy and strategy.
Oversee budgeting and financial management, and ensures that the CDC is managed in a fiscally responsible manner.
Manage the relationship and communication between the CDC and the Foundation, consultants, volunteers, and others.
Administers QP cultural program in accordance with established rules. And procedures and in consistence with CDC/QF objectives and vision.
Provides staff support to the cultural affairs commissions and committees on cultural affairs including attendance at meetings, record keeping, and providing support services in keeping with other boards and commissions.
Recommends initiatives for actions to carry out the mission of the Chairman of the Cultural ‘Board.
Selects, assigns, supervises and evaluates CDC staff and its activities.
Provides staff supports to develop and implement a community cultural plan that includes all cultural aspects of the community.
Represents the CDC at speaking engagements, public events, meetings and conferences. Works closely with cultural and arts organizations and individual artists Works and coordinates with other organizations to ensure success of CDC/QF cultural activities.
Provides technical assistance for a broad range of individual artists and arts organizations through workshops and one - on- one session.
Conducts programs to further the development of, interest in, and support for the arts and cultural affairs.
Develops the economic potential of the arts and history through arts and cultural events and other appropriate programs.
Performs other defies as needed or assigned.
Familiarize, understand and implement QF health, safety, and environment policy, procedures, legal regulations and objectives applicable to areas of responsibility. Ensures coordination with HSE department in implementing, monitoring and reviewing of HSE performance to ensure work under his/her control is performed in a safe, healthy and environmentally sound manner.
