Guideway Technician Rail Sector - Grupo Norconsulting SL

We are currently looking for a Guideway technician to be based in Qatar.



The Guideway Technician is responsible for the inspection and repair of mainline track,

special track work, switch machines, structures, power rail, drainage, walkways and

fencing.



DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



Works independently or under the direction of the Guideway Supervisor to complete

scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks on the guideway.

Inspection, maintenance and repair of yard and mainline track, switches and switch

machines.

Inspection, maintenance and repair of propulsion rail.

Inspection, maintenance and repair of guideway structure, drainage, walkways and

fences.

Implements work permits, undertakes maintenance and repair work on the guideway,

and returns assets to a fit condition for operation.

Completes records of inspections and completed work and enters into Asset

Management System.

Makes recommendations for equipment and procedural changes to improve the

performance of guideway assets.

Operates cranes and heavy rail maintenance equipment, including driving the

maintenance rail vehicle.





QUALIFICATIONS



High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 1-3 years experience

maintaining and repairing rails and switches.

Experience in electrical, mechanical or structural maintenance would also be an asset.

Must be capable of working outside in all weather conditions to ensure scheduled work

is completed to enable the guideway to be returned to operation.
