Head of Business Development - Qatar Foundation

Job Purpose:

Determines the long-term strategic objectives of the business. Ensures business growth through planning, directing and managing business development activities such as strategy, sales and relationship management to ascertain these are delivered in accordance with overall organizational strategies. Ensures the effective achievement of the business development functional objectives, through the leadership of the division, by setting clear objectives in order to maximize individual divisional and departmental performance.



KEY RESULT AREAS

 Leads, manages and ensures that Al Shaqab achieves its business objectives in areas such as profitability, business and customer growth, organizational and program development, introduction of new events, continuous operational improvement and working capital effectiveness.



 Implements continuously a growth strategy that will ensure that Al Shaqab becomes a dominant market leader in the region.



 Develops and implements business strategy and plan, manages the current business to achieve the targeted financial and business objectives, while also identifying new opportunities for growth and focuses resources on those opportunities.



 Influences and shapes business by developing revenue-generating streams, identifying and sourcing key opportunities, developing sponsorships and grants and implementing strategic alliances so as to expand the business.



 Identifies unmet needs throughout the organization, and develops sales plans and sponsorship opportunities that contribute to the growth and success of Al Shaqab.



 Develops Al Shaqab’s brand continuously by creating and implementing innovative means to build awareness within its market place.



 Develops and manages an expansive network of relationships with potential clients and key stakeholders, solidifies existing relationships to help facilitate opportunities.



 Researches, identifies and negotiates funding, sponsorship opportunities that will drive significant quantifiable support for events.



 Assesses business development practices and performance, monitors progress while making necessary adjustments so as to best meet goals and objectives and compliance requirements.



 Develops a highly motivated, result-oriented team that will fully exploit existing business opportunities and seek out new business opportunities to ensure profitable growth in line with Al Shaqab’s strategic plan.



 Fosters and leads a cohesive business development team which ensures that activities are implemented, delivered and perceived as the best in-class operations and customer service.



 Ensures that Al Shaqab remains competitive by keeping abreast with market development, industry and business trends.



 Oversees marketing, advertising, promotional planning, delivery and quality of business development services so as to ensure efficient and effective service delivery practices.
