Description and Desired Qualifications



CH2M HILL Senior Civil Water Engineer (Industrial Water) - Abu Dhabi, UAE



Job Purpose:



Continued growth and development has led to an increased need for an experienced Civil Water Engineer to join the Halcrow CH2M Hill Water & Wastewater team in the Sharjah office.



The team deals with a range of public and private sector clients and provides specialist technical advisory and project management services on water industry projects in the Middle East.



Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:



• Network design of sewerage, storm water, potable water, firefighting and irrigation systems;



• Hydraulic design of sewage treatment works



• Preparing calculations, drawings and specifications;



• Assisting with the preparation of bids and proposals



• Preparation of contract documentation and technical reports



• Attending site visits and client offices to retrieve data



• Assist in obtaining no objection certificates from relevant authorities



• Prepare and deliver presentations to clients, contractors and peers





































































Basic Qualifications



Job Requirements/Qualifications/Experience:



The ideal candidate should possess a degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:



• Previous design experience in the water industry.



• Good hands on familiarity with industry standard design software such as MIKE URBAN, INFOWORKS, EPANET, WinDES, AUTOCAD, CIVIL3D



• Familiar with surge analysis



• Demonstrable evidence of having successfully undertaken the design of a least two of the following: -



• Hydraulic design of sewage treatment works



• Foul sewerage system, including foul pump stations and rising mains



• Storm water drainage system, including storm pump stations and rising mains



• Potable water/irrigations/firefighting network including pump stations.



• Demonstrable experience of working on at least one design and build project as a designer



• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English



• Ability to interact personally and confidently with clients and other members of staff;



• A personal commitment to work to tight deadlines while under pressure.



• Previous experience of preparing contract documents using various forms of contract.



• Some construction experience would be an advantage;



• Experience with the FIDIC conditions of contract would be an advantage;



• Demonstrable evidence of progression towards chartered engineer status (or equivalent) would be advantageous





• Arabic speaking would be advantageous but not essential
